Overview

This material documents World War II soldier Elliot Gatner's time on maneuvers in Tennessee during the summer of 1941. Included are photocopied diary excerpts from June to July 1941 while Gatner traveled through middle Tennessee in places like Bell Buckle, Haley, Shelbyville, Tullahoma, and Murfreesboro. Also included are Gatner's photographs of the maneuvers which include campsites, fellow soldiers, poker games, and more.
